Canvas View
The Canvas View is a freeform, widget-based layout. Use it to build a dashboard for your team or a clean, publishable page you can share with a client. Unlike the other views, a Canvas isn’t a single visualization — you compose it from widgets, including live embeds of your other views.
Building a Canvas
Add a Canvas from the + menu in the tab bar, then add widgets from the Canvas toolbar. Drag a widget by its header to move it, drag the corner to resize, and use its settings to configure what it shows. Layouts save automatically.
Available Widgets
Widgets fall into a few groups:
- Views (live): List, Board, ToDo, Timeline, Agenda, Calendar, Directory, and Playlist — each renders real, up-to-date data from your Space.
- Data: Project Summary, Upcoming Tasks, Progress Bar, Countdown, and Metric for at-a-glance numbers and milestones.
- Content: Doc Embed (drop in one of your Docs), Image, and Media Embed.
- Layout: Heading, Text Block, and Divider to title and structure the page.
- Input: Text Input and Text Area for capturing notes or short responses.
- Comments: Surface a comment thread directly on the Canvas.
Sharing a Canvas
A Canvas can be shared as a public link, which makes it a good fit for a client-facing status page or “production wrap.”
- Live updates: The shared page reflects your edits automatically — embedded views stay current.
- No account required: Anyone with the link can view it (subject to your link settings).
See Tab View Sharing for how shared links and their permissions work.
[!NOTE] A Canvas lives at the Space level as its own view tab. Add as many as you need — for example, one internal dashboard and one client-facing page.
