Roles & Permissions

Cuevue uses a role-based access control (RBAC) system to ensure that members have the appropriate level of authority within a Space. Permissions are defined at the Space level, so a user’s role in one Space does not affect their permissions in another.

Core Roles

There are three primary roles available in Cuevue:

Owner

The highest level of authority. Owners have full control over the Space, including the ability to:

  • Delete the Space permanently.
  • Transfer ownership to another member.
  • Access and modify all Billing information.
  • View and edit all Space Settings.

Admin

Admins are responsible for the day-to-day management of the production environment. They can:

Member

The standard role for editors, producers, and internal staff. Members can:

Guest

A limited-access role for collaborators who need visibility without full workspace capabilities. Guests can:

  • View projects and tasks in the Space.
  • Edit only the status, description, and title on projects.
  • Leave comments on shared versions.

Guest seats do not count toward your billable member seats. Free plans allow 2 guests, Pro allows 5, and Studio allows unlimited guests.

External Reviewers

People who are not part of your Space roster (like external clients) can be given temporary, restricted access via Public Review Links. External reviewers do not occupy a member or guest seat in your Space and can only view the specific versions you have shared with them.

[!CAUTION] Downgrading an Admin to a Member will immediately restrict their ability to delete projects or manage your team roster. Use caution when changing roles during an active production cycle.
