Review & FeedbackSharing Links

Sharing & Public Review

Cuevue lets you securely share a version with clients, stakeholders, or other external reviewers without creating accounts. This is handled through Public Review Links.

Links are generated per version from the review header:

  1. Open the version in the Review Player.
  2. Click Share.
  3. On first click, Cuevue creates the link and copies it to your clipboard.
  4. On later clicks, Share just re-copies the existing link.

[!NOTE] You can share Draft or Locked versions. Locking a version prevents further editing, but the shared review link remains usable.

Use the Settings icon beside Share to manage link behavior:

  • Password protection (per link): Require a password for just that link.
  • Link expiry: Set an optional date/time when the link becomes invalid.
  • Allow media download: Control whether reviewers can download the shared audio/video file.
  • Remove review link: Immediately invalidates the URL.
  • Lock version / Duplicate version: Lock a draft, or duplicate a locked version.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Open the in-app shortcut reference.

The Public Reviewer Experience

When someone opens a shared link, they see a restricted public workspace:

  • Optional security gates: They may be asked for a Space password and/or a link password.
  • Name attribution: They are prompted for a reviewer name before commenting.
  • Limited access: They only see the shared version.
  • Feedback tools: They can leave Comments, navigate by Transcript, and submit approval status.

Security & Governance

Access Control

You can control access at two levels:

  • Space-level password: Require one password for all public links in the Space.
  • Link-level password: Add a second password for a specific link.

Revoking Access

If you shared the wrong version or need to end access, remove the link in the settings menu. The URL is invalid immediately and returns a not found page.

Tab View Sharing

In addition to sharing specific media versions, you can share any view tab (List, Board, Timeline, Calendar, etc.) as a public link. This is different from review links — it shares the project management view, not the media player.

Creating a Shared View

  1. Right-click on a view tab in the tab bar.
  2. Select Share View.
  3. A link is generated that captures the current view configuration (tab type, grouping, filters, visible columns).
  4. Copy the link and share it with anyone.

Shared View Permissions

Control what viewers can do via the share settings popover:

  • Public access (default) or Members only — restrict to authenticated Space members.
  • Password protection — require a password for non-members.
  • Field editing — allow or prevent viewers from editing field values.
  • View interaction — allow or prevent viewers from sorting, filtering, and grouping.
  • Expiration date — set an optional date when the link becomes invalid.

Revoking a Shared View

Open the share settings for the tab and click Revoke. The link becomes invalid immediately.

Canvas Sharing

You can also share an entire Canvas.

  • Use Case: Give clients a clean status page with milestones, deliverables, and live updates.
  • Dynamic Updates: Shared Canvas pages update automatically as your team edits internally.

[!IMPORTANT] Public reviewers can see all existing comments on a shared version by default. If you have “Internal-Only” comments that you wish to hide from clients, make sure to mark them as “Internal” before sharing the link.
