Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to common questions about using Cuevue for your production workflow.
General
What is the difference between an Episode and a Project?
In the system’s code, we use the term “Episode,” but the default name in the interface is “Project.” You can rename this for your specific Space.
Is there a mobile app?
Cuevue is a responsive web application optimized for mobile browsers. The Review Player includes touch gestures, mobile-friendly layouts, and a selection toolbar designed for smaller screens. You can also “Add to Home Screen” to use it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) for a native app-like experience.
How do I switch between light and dark mode?
Go to Account Settings → Profile → Preferences and toggle the theme. Your choice syncs across all your devices. See Appearance & Preferences for details.
What views are available for organizing my work?
Cuevue offers several views, all showing the same underlying data:
- List View: Spreadsheet-style for bulk editing
- Board View: Kanban for workflow management
- Timeline View: Gantt chart for scheduling
- Calendar View: Month/week planning
- Agenda View: Day-by-day scheduling
- ToDo View: Personal task list with smart time-based bucketing (Today, Tomorrow, This Week, etc.)
- Docs View: Collaborative documents and notes
- Directory View: People, guests, reviewers, and bookmarks
- Canvas View: Freeform widget dashboard or client-ready page
Media & Review
My file won’t upload. What should I do?
Ensure your file is in a supported format. Audio: WAV, MP3, FLAC, AAC, M4A, OGG, AIFF, WMA. Video (Pro or above): MP4, MOV, WebM. If upload fails, retry from the same version. Cuevue uses direct and multipart uploads to recover large-file transfers reliably.
Can I share with someone who doesn’t have an account?
Yes. Use a Public Review Link. They can listen and comment without logging in. Depending on your security settings, they may be prompted for a Space password and/or a link-specific password.
Why is my transcript inaccurate?
AI transcription is highly accurate but can struggle with heavy accents, overlapping speech, or significant background noise. Admins can manually correct errors using Edit Mode.
Is speaker identification available right now?
Not currently. Speaker labeling is temporarily disabled while the diarization workflow is being reworked. You can still search, comment, and edit transcript text as usual. See Transcription & Search.
Can I hide internal comments from clients?
Yes. Mark comments as Internal when creating them, and they won’t be visible to external reviewers accessing via Public Review Links. See Internal vs. External Comments.
Does Cuevue support video review?
Yes. Video review is available on the Pro plan and above. Upload MP4, MOV, or WebM files and use the full Review Player with frame-accurate scrubbing, timeline preview hover, and spatial annotation tools (Box, Arrow, Freehand drawing). See Review Player for details.
Can I adjust comment timing after creating a comment?
Yes. Range comments appear as bars in the Comment Lane below the timeline. You can drag the edges to resize or drag the whole bar to reposition. Hold Cmd/Ctrl for precision mode. See Adjusting Comment Timing.
What are Review Markers?
Review Markers are timeline markers for ad insertion points or structural notes. They come in two types: Point (single timestamp) and Section (time range). When exporting to Megaphone, markers can automatically generate ad insertion points.
Can I export to multiple services at once?
Yes. Open the Export menu on any version and select Multi-Export to open a wizard that lets you export to Megaphone, YouTube, Dropbox, and Google Drive simultaneously. See Multi-Export.
Can I share a view (not just a version) with external stakeholders?
Yes. Right-click any view tab and select Share View to generate a public URL. The shared view can be password-protected, set to expire, and configured with granular permissions. See Tab View Sharing.
Customization
How do I create custom statuses for my workflow?
Go to Space Settings → Statuses to create, reorder, and color-code workflow stages. See Custom Statuses for details.
Can I add custom fields for my industry?
Yes! Cuevue supports Custom Fields including text, number, date, link, select, multi-select, and checkbox types. Create them in Space Settings → Custom Fields.
How do I use the Board View?
The Board View organizes work into Kanban-style columns. Drag cards between columns to update status, assignee, or custom field values. Use the toolbar to filter by “Me Mode” or hide closed items.
Integrations
How do I connect Google Calendar?
Go to Space Settings → Integrations → Google Calendar and sign in with your Google account. See Google Calendar Integration for setup details.
Can I sync data with Airtable?
Yes. Cuevue supports two-way Airtable sync with saved field mappings, custom field mapping, conflict resolution, and Airtable-to-Cue imports. Configure it in Space Settings → Integrations → Airtable. See Airtable Integration.
How do I export episodes to Megaphone?
Connect your Megaphone API token in Space Settings → Integrations → Megaphone, map a podcast, and optionally configure field mappings and default ad markers. Then export from any project’s action menu. You can schedule future publish dates, re-export to update existing episodes, and track export status via badges in your project lists. See Megaphone Integration.
How do I publish to YouTube from Cuevue?
Connect your Google account in Space Settings → Integrations → YouTube, configure field mappings, and export from any project’s action menu. You can set scheduled publish dates and choose between standard video or YouTube Shorts. Requires a Studio plan. See YouTube Integration.
How do I import or export files with Google Drive?
Connect your Google account in Space Settings → Integrations → Google Drive. You can then import audio/video files from Drive into project versions, or export finished media to a Drive folder. Requires a Pro plan or above. See Google Drive Integration.
What can I do with Cmd+K besides searching?
Cmd+K has three modes you can switch between with Tab: Search (find items), Ask Cue (ask questions about your workspace data and get AI-powered answers with inline [N] citations and clickable entity links), and Do (describe actions in plain language and Cue generates an action plan for your approval, with a danger-style confirm dialog for destructive verbs and large batches). Auto mode picks the right route for you and downgrades borderline Do picks to Ask so Enter never fires an action the router wasn’t sure about. See Global Search & Cmd+K.
Can Cue read its answers out loud?
Yes. In Ask mode the answer header includes a Speak / Pause / Resume button that uses your browser’s built-in text-to-speech to read the response. Markdown formatting is stripped before speaking. See Ask Cue Mode.
Can I include text I’m reading as context for Ask?
Yes. Highlight any text in the app (a transcript range, a comment, a doc paragraph) before you open Cmd+K. Cue captures the selection (up to 4 KB) and shows a dismissible “Including selection: ’…’” chip below the context chip. The selection is sent to the agent with your question. See Selection-aware Ask.
How do I make Cmd+K search the whole Space instead of just the current project?
The context chip below the input shows the current scope. Click the ✕ on the chip to widen scope to the entire Space for that query. See Context & Scope.
How do I delete a version?
Open the version action menu and choose Delete Version. You’ll be asked to type the version label into a confirmation input — the destructive button only enables once the typed text matches. See Deleting a Version.
Can I get Slack notifications or trigger actions automatically?
Yes. Use Automations (Studio plan) to run actions when events happen in your Space — including post to Slack and webhook actions. For example, post to a channel when a comment is added, or auto-assign an editor when a project is created.
Collaboration
How do I change someone’s role?
An Owner or Admin can update roles in the Members section of the Space Settings. See Roles & Permissions for more details.
What happens if I lock a Space?
Locking a Space makes it read-only for all members. You can still view projects and play media, but no new comments or versions can be added. See Locking a Space for details.
How do I react to a comment without replying?
Hover over any comment and click the emoji icon to add a reaction. This is useful for acknowledging feedback without cluttering the thread. See Emoji Reactions.
Account & Billing
How do I reset my password?
Navigate to Account Settings while logged in to change your password. If you’ve forgotten your password and cannot log in, use the “Forgot Password” link on the Sign In page.
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies vary by plan. Please Contact Support for specific billing inquiries.
What happens if my payment fails?
Your Space enters a Grace Period of 7 days. If payment isn’t resolved, the Space becomes locked until a valid payment method is provided. See Billing for details.
Do external reviewers count towards my seat limit?
No. People accessing your work via Public Review Links are guests and do not occupy billable seats. Only Owners, Admins, and Members count towards your seat limit.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Account Settings → Billing and open Manage in Stripe to cancel. You’ll retain access until the end of your current billing period, then revert to the Free plan. Your data is preserved. See Cancelling Your Subscription for details.
How do I delete my account?
Navigate to Account Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile and personal data. Spaces you own must be transferred or deleted first. See Deleting Your Account.
Tasks & Organization
What are task types?
Task types let you categorize tasks by their nature (e.g., “Recording”, “Editing”, “Review”). They can be configured in Workspace Settings → Task Types and used to filter or group tasks in any view. See Task Types.
What is the ToDo View?
The ToDo View is a personal task list that automatically groups your assigned tasks into smart time-based buckets: Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, Later, and No Date. It’s ideal for daily planning.
Can I use AI to fill in project details from a transcript?
Yes. After transcribing audio, you can use AI-Assisted Field Generation to automatically suggest values for project fields like title, summary, guest names, and topics based on what was spoken.
Mobile
What mobile gestures are supported?
On mobile devices, Cuevue supports touch-optimized interactions across views:
- Swipe actions: Swipe left or right on tasks for quick status changes and other actions.
- Long-press multi-select: Press and hold a task, then tap others to select multiple items.
- Batch operations: With multiple items selected, use the toolbar to bulk-update status, assignees, or other fields.
- Review gestures: Tap words to select and comment, tap the paragraph icon for paragraph comments, or double-tap for quick commenting.
- Cmd+K sheet: On phones the palette docks to the bottom of the screen as a sheet with a drag handle, sized to clear the soft keyboard.
- One-task-per-row timeline: The Timeline view stacks each task on its own row on mobile so bars never overlap. See Mobile Timeline.
